What is the PAC?
The Local 240 Political Action Committee (PAC) was founded as a committee of the Local Executive in 2011. The PAC engages in projects within the union local, the College and the broader Hamilton community that are informed by the following values:
worker’s rights; peace; social justice; human rights; equality; accessible, high quality, critical public education; direct democratic participation; and domestic and international solidarity with social movements that affirm these values.
Membership in the PAC is open to any full time or partial load faculty at Mohawk College, and also to retired faculty. If you’re interested in joining the PAC, or finding out more about it, please contact Kevin MacKay at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Request for Support
The PAC supports local organizations that share their values. Support can come in the form of an official endorsement, a monetary donation, a donation of time, or a sponsorship.
Requests will be considered by the PAC as quickly as possible, but a decision on support may take from two weeks to one month.
If you would like to request support from the Local 240 PAC, a form is available for download here: Local 240 PAC Support Form
